Yes, another homeschooling blog...

P'once a little time there was a girl. This girl grew up to be a Mamma to three little girls all very much like herself. And this little Mamma knew she just had to have a place of her own to keep all things home school right at her fingertips.

  • School Desk
  • New Markers
  • Roman Gladiator Suit, something like this.
  • Bouncy Ball
  • Clothes, Size 6, hats, gloves, mittens, belt, barrettes and hair accessories
  • Architectural Elements Wooden Block set (She wrote: "Roman make your own building set"): This may be more appropriate for Elinor, but I'm sure would get much use from them both. These are a bit more fancy than the ones Mara saw in the store, but I can't find a picture of the exact ones online.
  • Life Jacket - type 2 or 3
  • A large Sketchpad
  • Colored Paper
  • Vegetable Steamer
  • Play Laptop
  • Build-a Bear
  • American Girl Doll
  • A spy set; to include a magnifying glass, a cape, a small notebook for clues, a red jacket, a tiny pen
Books:
  • Madeline and the Cats of Rome
  • Any picture-story books about Italy or Rome
  • A book about The Book of Kells
  • A book about animals - with colorful pictures
  • A book about insects - with colorful pictures
  • Fairy Tales Books
  • Nursery Rhyme Books
As far as curriculum for next term is concerned, we'll be briefly looking back into the ancients over some of the Eastern cultures we skimmed past, but we won't focus there all term. We'll be moving into the Middle Ages and I think we'll be doing a little bit of a focus on illuminated manuscripts. Mara recently watched The Secret of Kells and loved it. She wants the actual Book of Kells (Do I tell her fat chance?). Maybe coloring books with interesting geometric patterns would be a good idea. (I'll have to check out what they have at United Art when I get back home.)

Elinor

  • Books about A, B,C's, Animals, Nursery Rhymes
  • Clothes, size 2T, socks, hat, mittens,
  • Crayons and Coloring books
  • Toy cars
  • Life Jacket - type 2 or 3
  • Build-a-Bear or a Baby Doll
